Hi everybody! Today I want to talk about black dress pants. In concept, it’s simple. I always envision one pair. They’re supposed to fit well, look polished, and work year round. For those in milder climates, this concept might actually exist. But here in New England that definitely isn’t the case. I actually have three pairs of black dress pants that I rotate based on the season.
The ones I’m wearing today are my summer option. I also have a pair that works perfectly for fall and spring (cropped at the ankle but a heavier fabric), as well as a winter pair (heavy, wool, and tuck-able into boots). This summer pair is made from a light synthetic blend and they feel more like pajamas than work attire. As an added bonus, they don’t wrinkle easily. Especially if you travel with colleagues or use public transportation for your commute, having a summer-weight work pant can make all the difference in looking polished (and avoiding that melting aesthetic) while on the go.
What are your tips for staying cool during your summer commute? Thanks so much for stopping by!
