Today I want to talk about rompers. When I think about the romper trend, what first comes to mind for me is flowy fabric that billows in the wind and bold patterns. Large scale floral or geometric prints, mostly. And while I love that aesthetic, I have a hard time incorporating rompers of this style into my wardrobe. The bold prints are perfect for the beach or brunch with some girlfriends, and, depending on the cut, they can be great for going out. But I find they are less good for anything more formal or structured. This is precisely why this romper caught my eye. I absolutely love the simplicity of the design.
The straight, structured cut gives the piece a little elegance, and I tried to keep the look simple, with delicate jewelry and a subtle pop with the shoes. Styled this way, I could put this outfit on on a Saturday morning and wear it all day long without having to change. From brunch, to running errands, to going out for dinner and drinks, this outfit has a versatility that evades me with most romper looks I try. And, the solid baby blue color makes this romper so easy to style. It goes with all the neutrals (black, brown, white, grey, navy, etc.), as well as with so many other colorful options (pink, purple, green, yellow, red…), leading me to believe I’ll have no problem mixing it up to wear this piece over and over again.
What do you think? Are you big in the romper trend? How do you like this one? And if you are one of the elusive few who have mastered how to wear a traditional romper on all occasions, can you teach me your ways?
As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
