Hi everybody! Happy Monday! Another week is here, and if you’re anything like me, it means the beginning of a monster to-do list and dashing from one thing to the next. It’s so easy for me to get wrapped up in the moment, so this weekend was a nice chance to stop and appreciate the wonderful people in my life. It was a far more social weekend than I usually indulge in, and it was lovely. I reunited with old friends, hung out with newer ones, and in general had a really uplifting and fulfilling time.
Part of the reason that it was so social is that this week marks the beginning of a lot of change. One of my dearest friends is moving across the country, and she’s leading the charge in moving on to new things. It’s such a bittersweet time. The change is invigorating, exciting, and well deserved, but it is also scary, and the goodbyes are hard.
I think the only thing to be done is to embrace the change. Embrace the risk and the loneliness and know that all of the best things in life require courage and resilience. And don’t worry about those friends you’re leaving behind. There’s all kinds of technology (hey there, Facebook), to help with that. In the meantime, make time for your friends and stop to appreciate the people who make your life a little bit sweeter and more fun.
Thank you to all of my friends (and family!) who support me here on Tailored and True. Stop by again soon, won’t you?
