Hi everybody! Happy Monday!
Today I want to talk about statement necklaces. Let me start by saying, I love them. I think they’re really fun and can totally transform an outfit. But, I also think they can be a little bit intimidating. How do you wear such a bold necklace without it totally taking over? Well, I thought I would share my tips and tricks. These certainly aren’t the only way to style such attention-grasping jewels, but this is usually what I think about when I create an outfit featuring a statement necklace:
- I like to keep the rest of my outfit simple. By making sure my other pieces are crisp, clean, and neutral, I make sure the necklace is the focal point of my outfit. I think it also keeps things from getting too busy or overwhelming. For me, this rule applies to both the clothing I wear and the other accessories I pick.
- I make sure to choose a neckline that doesn’t contrast with the necklace. For “bib” necklaces like this one, I love a high neckline. In general, I look to make sure the neckline of my shirt and the necklace won’t get tangled.
- I like to contrast masculine and feminine details to keep the look from getting too “frilly”. I love this top because the ruffle detail balances out the masculine cut of the shirt, and it makes it the perfect top to pair with such an intricate necklace.
I do want to stop and take a minute to discuss the company behind my necklace. Happiness Boutique reached out to me to collaborate on this post (as always, opinions are 100% my own!), and I was so pleased to discover them. They are a veritable cornucopia of affordable statement jewelry. If you’re in need of a new go-to jewelry site, I highly recommend checking them out!
So tell me, where do you shop for statement jewelry? And what are your strategies for styling killer outfits with your statement necklaces?
