Today and yesterday have been super nice out, and it almost feels like spring is peeking out from under the covers and considering getting out of bed. It’s still not quite as warm as I want it to be, but it got up to a balmy 47 degrees F yesterday which made me unreasonably happy. Still, I know there are bound to be at least a few more chilly nights coming my way before we’re out of this for real, and Saturday was no exception.
I wanted to share this look and chat about my strategies for dressing up to go out in the cold. I have always believed it’s possible to look super cute when layered up head to toe, and feel absolutely no need to jeopardize my warmth when going out. Layering a crop top over a long sleeve is a great way to sneak in an extra layer. I recommend getting one that hits at your natural waistline or right above for a bonus slimming effect. I also love an over the knee boot for extra warmth in the winter.
I’ve been eying these Stuart Weitzman beauties for forever, but there’s just no possible way for me to justify buying them (trust me, I’ve tried). When I laid my eyes on this alternative, I was immediately sold. I love over the knee boots for the glamour and extra insulation they provide, and I find heeled boots are usually much more comfortable than pumps (although after dinner when I realized I would be walking 20 blocks to meet up with friends, and then going dancing, I will admit I swapped these out for my favorite feet-friendly booties – last seen here).
What are your strategies for going out in the cold? And do you have any other boots to recommend? Thank you so much for reading!
