Hi everybody! Happy Thursday!
I know by this point you’re probably sick of hearing about my trip to Morocco (ahem… here, here, and here), but I promise I’m almost done. The last part of our trip was in the Sahara, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t share a few pictures from the desert. We actually had beautiful weather – I’m pretty sure we hit it at the mildest part of the year. It was hot during the day (but not unbearable) and cool at night (but not totally freezing). We stayed in this super cool “luxury camp” situation, went sandboarding (I wiped out and I’m still finding sand…), and rode camels. It also felt like a pretty big success that there were no middle-of-the-night-creature-scares. It was such a cool and unique experience, and I feel so lucky to have had the chance to visit this remote part of the world. And to have a bed to sleep on while I did :)
When I was prepping for this trip I was envisioning a super impractical desert photoshoot featuring a flowy dress and a convenient breeze. But then packing for the 10 day trip in a carry on became a necessity and that idea was sadly dropped. I’ll have to do it next time. Anyway, these items that eventually did get featured were far more practical and were worn multiple times on my trip before even making it to the desert. Carry-on packing well done, if you ask me. I was lucky though because this outfit turned out to be perfect desert wear. Linen is the classic for staying cool in the heat, and I really appreciated having my arms, chest, and neck covered under the strong sun. I don’t mind getting sun on my legs, though, and these pull on shorts are awesome and comfortable for travel. And of course my trusty Birkenstocks, which I consider to be the ultimate travel sandal since they are comfortable even after miles of touring a new place.
Have you ever been to a sand dune desert? What did you wear when you were there? As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
