Some mornings all I can really handle is pulling on my favorite jeans, a comfy cotton tee, and some sneakers. I’m not proud, but at least I’m honest. Actually, my friends make fun of me for how much I wear these jeans. The pair has really descended from “artfully distressed” to “totally destroyed.” But they’re so soft and stretchy and crazy comfy, so these pants, well, they’re not going anywhere. It’s a look and I’m rolling with it.
I always think it’s best to admit our weaknesses. They say that admitting you have a problem is the first step. So rather than waking up earlier or planning my outfits out the night before (cause ain’t nobody got time for that) my steps two, three, and four for fashion success are to stock my closet with cute t-shirts, put them in an easy-to-reach place (for the mornings I get dressed before I have coffee – yikes), and then walk out the door with my head held high because I’m wearing a “stylish” tee and therefore I look good (or at least this is what I tell myself). This happens fairly often. So often, in fact, that when I thought of doing this post, I kind of giggled to myself. Just another way of making this basic look more valid as a fashion statement.
It’s the perfect, easy summer look, if you ask me (not that you did, but here I am sharing anyway), and so I invite you to share this strategy with me. Pick a few cute tees (I’m also eyeing this one), stack ’em high, and wear ’em proud.
