This time of year I get so much joy from mixing summer and winter pieces to create the perfect spring outfit. While it’s been toasty here during the day (California sun is no joke, just ask my too-pink shoulders) the second that sun drops, it gets chilly!
Enter this floral wrap dress in combo with the leather and suede. I love how airy this dress is, with the ruffle hem creating a playful vibe. It’s also cut perfectly, I have to say, to avoid any dangerous flutter when I walk. This is key, my friends, key. Anyway I knew by the time we ate dinner I’d be shivering, so I layered up with my trusty leather jacket. A year or two ago I decided to invest and that decision has paid off time and time again. A good leather jacket packs a punch in the warmth department, and carries such an effortless, trendy vibe while being one of the most timeless pieces in my closet.
Quick side note. Last Thursday I went to a talk from Mary Barra and she walked on stage wearing a killer leather jacket. It made my soul sing. She is a total girlboss and if you’re into women in business (which I most definitely am) I highly suggest looking her up. She’s super well known for her collaborative leadership style, which I really respect, and she’s posted record revenues as GM’s CEO and chairman.
Woman business idols in gorgeous leather jackets aside, if you don’t have such a jacket in your closet, I’ve linked a few beautiful options below. It’s at least worth a peek. And then you can wear your summer dresses now and get the most out of them, even if your weather isn’t fully cooperating.
